Forbes Thailand and Crowns 3 hold one – of – kind Investment of passion: Gastronomic whisky dining experience (30 – 31 July 2014)
Forbes Thailand, in association with Crowns 3 Luxury consultants, recently held 2 unique dining /tasting experiences.
The events were spread over the course of 2 days with the first dinner held at the prostigeous Le Normandie Grill at The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. The event itself was held in conjuction with Kasikorn Bank – Thailand’s leader in private banking. The 70 guests were all private investors with the Bank.
The second event was held at was held at JW Marriott’s New York Steakhouse.
Highlighting Scottish single malt whisky as an alternative investment asset, the exclusive invitation – only event for 70 was attended by whisky aficionados and investors, as well as many of Bangkok’s well – known personalities.
The “Investment Of Passion: The Gastronomic Whisky Journey” began with a cocktail reception at the stylish Manhattan Bar by New York Steakhouse and was followed by a sumptuous five – course dinner menu created by chef Michael Hogan.
Each course was carefully paired with rare vintage Scottish single malts from world – renowned distilleries such as Macallan, Mortlach, Rosebank, Bowmore and Highland Park.
Flown in from Shanghai by Crowns 3 especially for the occasion was Stephen Notman, a leading independent voice on whisky. Highly respected as a judge at the World Whisky Awards and Wine and spirits Competition. Notman educated and entertained guests throughout the evening with his formidable knowledge of single malt whisky and the investment itself.
In addition to working with the Scottish government to promote and export whisky, Notman also mentors and advises some of Scotland’s distilleries
